Mysteries of the Brock Street Dig

Event Details

Trent Valley Archives opens its new season of community activities by welcoming one and all to attend a free panel discussion on the stories from the Brock Street parking lot.  The event takes place on Thursday, April 25, 2019,  7- 9 pm. at Highland Park Cemetery Visitor Centre, 2510 Bensfort Rd, Peterborough with the AGM to follow.

Over the past 60 years, the Brock Street parking lot excavation has generated widespread attention from the archeological community and the public in general.  A panel consisting of Doug Williams and Ann Taylor from Curve Lake, Susan Neale from the Peterborough Museum & Archives, Rita Granda from Trent University and moderated by Dirk Verhulst will each speak about their portion of the project which led to publishing the book The Ancestors Speak: Stories from the Brock Street Site.   If you’re curious about what was uncovered there and why this site was disturbed 3 different times, come out and hear the experts. Their book will also be available.

Refreshments will be served and the AGM will follow the discussion.
