Dining with Dementia: Supporting individuals and care givers March 26th, 2019 beginning at 5:30pm Bagnani Hall at Traill College (310 London St. Peterborough) Welcome to your simulation dining experience. Dinner will consist of a family style meal, with vegan options, catered by the Trend at Traill College. Dinner is a local collaboration with Nightingale Nursing, Kawartha Centre for Redefining Healthy Aging, and Trent University to present a dining experience with an immersive learning component. Your dining experience will include interactions with trained actors portraying individuals living with dementia and their care givers. Our goal is to create a safe interactive environment to share resources and practice skills for frontline healthcare professionals to share with individuals and families living with dementia.

Children's Stage Lakefield 2018/2019 Season

Beany John Hoop Dance & the Lakefield College School Dancers (February 3rd, 2019) Beany John shares the traditional art of Hoop Dancing blended with contemporary music. She is both a teacher of hoop dance and an innovative performer, whose contemporary style incorporates elements of hip hop. Beany will be accompanied by the Lakefield College School Dancers to help facilitate the workshop. To Be Determined Theatre Company (April 14th, 2019) Our final show of the season brings to life, the Robert Munsch classic The Paper Bag Princess - The Musical! In the Silver Birch program, children choose books from the Silver Birch reading lists and need to read at least 5/10 of the titles in one category to be able to vote for their favourite author at the end of the program. At the program we talk about the books, complete book related activities, listen to speakers and sign out books to read at home. The 10th Annual Riverview Park & Zoo Fun Run or Walk is a great family event for athletes, zoo enthusiasts, kids and parents alike! Every year the Society presents an excellent show of our communities beautiful flowers. Many flowers are bursting into bloom at this time of year such as begonias, carnations, pansies, Iris, petunias, phlox, roses, sweet peas, columbines, Canterbury bells, delphiniums etc. You must be a member to enter your flowers, so be sure to join up before the rose show.You don’t have to be a member to attend this terrific show and admission is free! We have many people exhibit their beautiful tulips, daffodils, bleeding hearts, iris and so many other spring flowers. There are also some beautiful arrangements designed by members using flowers from their gardens. A terrific showing of flowers as usual by our exuberant members. A great way to get the season going!
