Bridgenorth Cruise Night

The Chemung Lake District Lions Club will be holding their cruise nights starting May 27th at 5:00 pm till dusk at the Paul J. English Chemung Lions Park in Bridgenorth; weather permitting. The Car Shows will be held every Monday night until September 23rd. Antique, Custom and Specialty cars and Trucks will be there. Food and refreshments will be served music of the 50's,60's and 70's will be played. Free admission to the park. All funds raised will be used for programs of the Chemung Lions Club.

Lively Stories at Little Lake Cemetery

Lively Stories at Little Lake Cemetery The fall season will be in full swing when Trent Valley Archives presents the 2019 Little Lake Cemetery Pageant on Sat and Sun, Sept 28th and 29th. Recreating the sometimes humorous and sometime tragic stories, actors bring insight into the lives of some of the interesting people buried at this famous Victorian cemetery. Dressed in period costumes, actors portray residents such Wilson Conger, merchant, sheriff, and politician who managed to have his friend Alexander McDonnell unexpectedly buried at Little Lake and gardener Alfred Rippingale, who rose from digging graves to become the Superintendent of the cemetery. Among others, you’ll see Katherine Wallis, well-known writer and sculptress and Police Chief George Roszel, of body-snatching fame, tell their fascinating stories to all who visit. These guided tours last about 90 minutes and run every 20 minutes from 6 to 7 pm. on Sept 28th and 1:00 to 1:20pm. on Sept 29th. Good walking shoes and a flashlight for evening visitors are recommended and the tour is wheelchair accessible. Refreshments and musical entertainment will be offered at the landmark cemetery chapel. The meeting place is at the Little Lake Cemetery main gates at the corner of Crescent and Haggart Streets. No cars are permitted in the cemetery during the tours. Parking is available outside the main gates on either Crescent or Haggart Streets. Cost is $22 per person, with pre-registration required. 2019 Lakefield Youth Unlimited Annual Fundraising Dinner

Lakefield Youth Unlimited (LYU) is celebrating 16 years! At our upcoming Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, October 17, 2019 we will be sharing inspiring and exciting stories about youth and their families in our community. We are also looking forward to the future and our acquisition of the Tribal Voices Store located at 25 Bridge Street. LYU runs weekly Elementary and Jr. High programs in the Village of Lakefield. Our LYU staff members and approximately 40 volunteers create a strong partnership within the community. This provides opportunities for LYU to meet the needs of youth and their families in Lakefield, helping youth attain their full life potential as God designed it. There is no cost for the meal, however, in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency requirements, a receipt will be issued for donations over and above the actual cost of the meal ($21). Dress is casual. An alternate meal is available upon request. We hope to see you on Thursday, October 17th at the Lakefield Royal Canadian Legion (10 Nicholls Street) for punch at 5:30pm and chicken dinner at 6:00pm. Come on out and give Curling a try! Whether it's your first time, or your first time in a long time, we would love to have you out. Youth through Adult are encouraged to attend. Our coaches, lead by Head Coach Tara, will demenstrate both "in hack" and stick delivery, making this event inclusive and suitable for those with mobility issues, as well as those wth limited/no vision, and limited/no hearing. Will provide all equipement. Please bring clean comfortable shoes similar to what you would wear in the gym, and wear warm clothing suitable for a fall day (it is chilly out on the ice.) that you can strech and move in.
