Telling the Tales of the Stones - Little Lake Cemetery Tour

Jul 05, 2019 07:00 PM - 08:30 PM And More Days
Every day we hear comedic as well as tragic stories. It was no less so in the past. On Friday evenings, 7-8:30 pm on July 5th, 12, 19th and 26th, Trent Valley Archives’ walking tour, Tragic Tales at Little Lake Cemetery, brings to light some of these tales of grief and woe of days gone by. Accompanied by an expert & experienced guide, you’ll hear all about the tragedy of the Turnbull Building collapse due to minimal safety standards and details about the 1916 Quaker Fire you may not know. Additional stories center on the burial of Col. Alexander McDonell, a Catholic, who was initially to be interred outside the Cemetery but now has a prominent place near the Chapel, the strange demise of little Freddie McMaster and the amazing life and career of strongman Daniel McDonald. Come out and experience the beauty of Little Lake Cemetery while hearing the fascinating history of the Peterborough area. Cost of this tour is $17 p.p., reservations required. You can book on line at www.trentvalleyarchives.com, click on Events, call Heather at 705-745-4404 or email admin@trentvalleyarchives.com.

Telling the Tales of the Stones - Little Lake Cemetery Tour

Jul 26, 2019 07:00 PM - 08:30 PM
